Audio Walking Tour in Dubrovnik Old Town

Welcome to Dubrovnik Old Town tour! Dubrovnik, historically known as Ragusa, is a city in Croatia, in the southern part of Dalmatia, on the Adriatic Sea. It is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, a seaport and the centre of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County. In 1979 Dubrovnik was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in recognition of its outstanding medieval architecture and fortified old town. The city’s history probably dates back to the 7th century, when refugees from Epidaurus (Ragusa Vecchia) founded the city known as Ragusa Vecchia. Dubrovnik’s climate borders on humid subtropical according to Köppen’s climate classification. Dubrovnik’s summers are hot, humid and moderately dry and its winters mild to cool and humid. From October to April, the Adriatic coast experiences a bora wind with cold gusts, and thundershowers are common throughout the year, even in summer when they interrupt the warm and sunny days. Air temperatures can vary slightly depending on the area or region.
